LBS is progressing our transition to clean energy with solar panel installations at our headquarters and the LBS Discovery Gallery @ KITA Cybersouth. These systems generate renewable electricity for daily operations, reducing reliance on the national grid while lowering long-term costs.
To further grow our clean energy portfolio, LBS has awarded Solarvest Holdings Berhad a RM104 million EPCC contract to develop a 43-MWp solar farm construction project in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. This large-scale project represents a significant step forward in our decarbonisation journey, reinforcing our long-term commitment to renewable energy and a low-carbon future.
Building on our solar initiatives, LBS is venturing into green hydrogen through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest Sabah Berhad, Sabah Forestry Development Authority (SAFODA), and Midwest Green Sdn Bhd to explore a 10-GW project in Kota Marudu, Sabah. This initiative supports Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap and advances hydrogen as a promising clean energy source for the nation.
M3 Shopping Mall has partnered with Kloth Circularity as its Fabric Recycling Partner, installing a dedicated fabric recycling bin to give unwanted textiles a second life. Extending the impact of managing waste, recycling efforts have been expanded to three community locations — Customer Relations Centre Cybersouth, Alam Perdana, and Puchong (D’Island Residence).
To strengthen waste practices, LBS has adopted a six-level waste management hierarchy, ensuring waste is managed effectively across operations. The LBS Recycling Hub, launched in 2023, provides employees with a central platform for systematic recycling. Beyond this, the annual Green Day programme engages staff and communities through recycling competitions, green talks, and preloved markets — inspiring action and nurturing a culture of environmental responsibility.
