Petaling Jaya, 28 March 2021 – With utmost sorrow, LBS Bina Group Berhad would like to announce the passing of our founder and group’s former chairman, Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng this morning. The company extends its sincerest condolences to his family in their bereavement and expresses its enduring gratitude for his decades of leadership and inspiration. 

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and my father,” said Tan Sri Lim Hock San, the executive chairman of the group. Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng was an inventive and visionary leader who, above all, lived the company’s core values with a true passion for our people and an exceptional commitment to our clients. He was an outstanding advocate for creating a culture of equality at LBS. His energy, drive, and leadership will be greatly missed.” 

Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng was appointed as the Chairman of LBS on 6 December 2001. He has more than 50 years of experience in the construction and property development sectors and played crucial roles in driving the company’s growth. The company announced his retirement as chairman on 1st March 2021. Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng’s visionary leadership and focus on innovation has positioned LBS for continued long-term growth — a remarkable legacy that will benefit future generations. 

As per the family’s decision, the funeral of Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng will take place at Level 3, Nirvana Center Kuala Lumpur (Nirvana 2), 16, Jalan Dewan Bahasa Pustaka from tomorrow onwards.

 LBS Foundation Lend A Helping Hand to Storm Victims in Sepang 

Petaling Jaya, 9 March 2021 – The storm that hit Sepang last Saturday has left many communities devastated as it had destroyed their homes in the middle of a pandemic. In their effort to carry social responsibilities, LBS Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm for LBS Bina Group continues to be committed in providing assistance and donations to those in need.

To aid the storm victims, LBS Foundation donated RM3,000 and 500 bottles of mineral water to Persatuan Penduduk Taman Seroja (BBST).

Amal Abdul Aziz, on behalf of LBS Foundation handed the mock cheque to the Chairman of Taman Seroja Residence Association, Hairol Azman Razali and witnessed by YAB Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, YDP of Sepang Municipal Council, Dato’ Haji Abd Hamid bin Hussain and DO of Sepang Land’s office, Tuan Mohamad Zain Bin A Hamid.

The Board of Trustees of LBS FoundationTan Sri Lim Hock San said “The Covid-19 pandemic has already affected many livelihoods, but the storm has further impacted people’s lives, affected families have no shelter. We hope our donation will help ease the burden of the storm victims,”.

Among the Taman Seroja Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi (BBST) residential areas affected are – Taman Seroja, Taman Dahlia, Seroja Hill Apartment, Taman Dahlia Apartment, Kampung Baru Pekan Salak and Kampung Salak Tengah.

Schools in the area, namely – Sekolah Rendah Taman Seroja, SK Taman Seroja and SMK Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi had also sustained damage. In addition, tents and equipment at the Sepang district police headquarters roadblock were damaged too due to the strong winds and continuous heavy rain. LBS Foundation empathises with victims of the unfortunate incident and they hope they will be able to recover the soonest possible.

DATO’ SERI LIM BOCK SENG, FOUNDER OF LBS BINA GROUP BERHAD RETIRES AS CHAIRMAN


Petaling Jaya, 1 March 2021 – LBS Bina Group Berhad (“LBS” or the “Group”), an internationally recognized developer, today announced that Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng will retire as Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman and that the Board of Directors has appointed Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Hock San to succeed him as the executive chairman and unanimously elected Datuk Wira Lim Hock Guan as the new managing director effective 1 March 2021.

Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng has served as Chairman of LBS since 6 December 2001. He has been involved with LBS for over 40 years prior to this where the business initially revolved around the transportation activities, primarily supplying and transporting building materials like sand and aggregates for construction and infrastructure works before venturing into the construction sector itself and building up LBS into what it is today.

Dato’ Seri Lim Bock Seng commented, “It has been my greatest privilege to serve as the Chairman for two decades. I want to show my deepest appreciation to all the talented and dedicated colleagues in LBS whom I have worked with over the years where some have been with the LBS family long before LBS was listed. Together we have been through the numerous peaks and troughs of the business cycles, particularly the Asian financial crisis just before we were listed. Upon my retirement, I strongly believe LBS will be in good hands under the chairmanship of Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Hock San, Datuk Wira Lim Hock Guan and the management team where they have more than demonstrated their abilities to continue growing the Group.”

About Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Hock San
Upon graduation in 1982 with First Class Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Wales, UK, Tan Sri Lim returned to Malaysia to assist in the family business of lorry transportation and construction works.

On 6 December 2001, Tan Sri Lim was appointed as LBS managing director. Through Tan Sri Lim’s two decades of dedication to LBS, with his excellent entrepreneurship, acquired management skills and experienced technical expertise, Tan Sri Lim helped spearheaded LBS and transformed the Group into a household brand name as one of the leading players in the property development industry as well as venturing into the insurance and tourism businesses.

Tan Sri Lim holds directorship in several subsidiaries of LBS, and Managing Director of MGB Berhad.

In addition, Tan Sri Lim was awarded numerous accolades throughout his career from various prestigious institutions. Tan Sri Lim is also an active philanthropist and advocate for social and community works. He currently sits on the board of over 30 organisations, schools, associations, assisting in the development of communities and the nation.

About Datuk Wira Lim Hock Guan
Datuk Wira Lim Hock Guan was appointed as executive director of LBS on 6 December 2001. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Tennessee Technology University, USA. Datuk Wira Lim started his career as a civil engineer upon his graduation.

With over 30 years of extensive experience in the field of property development and construction, Datuk Wira Lim has been one of the major driving forces behind LBS’s successful implementation of projects in the Klang Valley.

Datuk Wira Lim sits on the board of several subsidiaries of the Group including MGB Berhad.
